Guide to Campus Facillities (Campus Map)/Hiroshima University of Economics


The Library

This is a smart building for academic research and education with 4 stories above and 2 below ground with space for over a half a million books and 470 desks, there are also several computers available for book searches, OA outlets and high-speed LAN cables for laptops running throughout the entire building.

The Students Union

Student Union “Libre” is a unique fan-shaped building commanding one of the best views on campus. As the meaning of the name (‘freedom’ in Spanish) suggests, this 6-story building is designed for students’ recreational use.
Its various facilities for dining, relaxation and amusement are well patronized by students any time of the day.

Training Center

Lake Yachiyo is a popular recreation spot. Our training center on the shore of the lake shares in the area’s idyllic surroundings. Within this natural expanse, we provide training and accommodation facilities for as many as 130 people.
There are tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer fields and facilities for sailing and cycling. The abundant natural environment of Osako Barrow, Seseragi Park and Iris Park, complete with protected lime trees, could not be more perfect for club and seminar camps, and social and study gatherings.

Koudoukan

Adjacent to the main campus is the Koudoukan, dedicated to fostering the Koudoujin: People of involvement and action.
There are seminar rooms for the Koudoukan Course and other customized rooms for the Koudoukan Project. The Koudoukan is open 24 hours a day for use by students and faculty members for seminars’ group and sports activities. The building incorporates free internet access, and computers are available for loan if needed.

Main Building

Housing the center of school operations, the Corporate Office, as well as the Office of General Affairs, and the Entrance Exam Information Section, this building's functions as HUE’s nerve center. There is a conference room and 22 research laboratories on the 4th floor, seminar rooms on the 3rd floor, and a Health Center and student counseling center on the 1st floor

No.1 Building

No.1 Building is an educational zone with rooms of various sizes. A student cafeteria is provided on the 1st floor. Also, on fine days the space between the Main Building and the No.1 Building is an ideal spot to enjoy lunch beneath a blue sky.

No.2 Building

No.2 Building contains a large 650-seat classroom, LL/AV lecture rooms, Office of International Exchange, Career Center, and Internship Promotion Office.

No.3 Building

No.3 Building forms the core of HUE’s educational study facilities with its 77 research laboratories, Institute of Regional Economy Research Laboratory, and Education and Study Support Center. It also contains two conference rooms, a Part-Time Faculty Room and Faculty Lounge. The Academic Affairs Center on the 1st floor caters to students with a variety of services.

No.4 and No.5 Buildings

No.4 Building houses student offices and lecture rooms for the Graduate school. No.5 Building is home to the student cafeteria “The Grill No. 5”

No.6 Building

Adjacent to the student union “Libre”, No.6 Building contains a fan-shaped lecture room with seating for 700, and 5 large lecture rooms. On the 1st and 2nd floor are 4 large lecture rooms with the latest AV equipment and accommodating up to 500 people.

Clubhouse

This clubhouse is for club activity gatherings. Mainly for arts clubs such as the Light Music Club, Music Family Club, School Festival Executive Committee, “The Movie”, “Express”, the Youth Hostel Club, International Exchange Club “Ciao”, Manga Club, Dance Club, SF&AG Club, Information Processing Training Club, Seminar Liaison Council, Broadcasting Club, etc.

Cafeteria

The campus contains three cafeterias: “Jioia” (Libre, 5F/6F)”, “Cafeteria No.1” (No.1 Building, 1F)”, and “The Grill”. A choice of Japanese, Chinese, and Western cuisines. Top marks in particular for the fried chicken lunch set!

Parking/Bicycle Parking

(Students-only parking)The 450-car student-only parking lot is located near the campus: particularly convenient for those with a long commute. Registration in the Traffic Safety Workshop with the Student Affairs Office is required before parking permission is given.
(Bicycle Parking)The campus has three bicycle parking lots. We will issue registration stickers. Registration in the Traffic Safety Workshop with the Student Affairs Office is required before a parking registration sticker is issued.

Sports facility

HUE boasts an excellent athletic environment and its students have contributed greatly to sporting achievement. The university sports center is located on an expansive hilltop area with a large field and a full line-up of sports equipment, where many senior athletes are in training.
